A small studio for work that deserves a closer look.

Asym Haus is an independent editorial web studio based in North Carolina, with a practice that travels.

We make websites for small businesses with a point of view. People who care deeply about what they're creating, have ideas of their own, and want a website that expresses the character and ambition of their work.

Our approach draws from art, cinema, and editorial design, but the most interesting material comes from you. We want to know what you care about, how you arrived here, and what you see that others might miss. From those conversations, we begin to build a visual world around your work, one that feels unmistakably yours and invites others to come closer.

Asym Haus / What We See

A change of perspective can change everything.

The internet is full of websites that know exactly how a website is supposed to behave. The same arrangements, the same polished promises, the same reassuring familiarity. You can move from one business to another without feeling you've gone anywhere at all.

We find that a rather strange waste of a medium with so much room for invention.

A website can borrow the suspense of cinema, the rhythm of a magazine, the intimacy of a conversation. It can make an ordinary detail extraordinary, introduce a little friction where curiosity might flourish, or reveal its meaning slowly enough that someone wants to stay.

And something interesting happens in the making. As we experiment with ways of expressing your work, qualities you may have struggled to articulate begin to take shape. You recognize something that was there all along, but now it has a presence you can see and share. The people who visit encounter that richness too, and find themselves wanting to explore.

Websites that make people look twice, understand more, and know what to do next.

We mix old-school craft with new-school tools, and aren't especially sentimental about the boundary between them. What matters is what we can make possible.

ASYM HAUS / THE PERSON

I'm Elizabeth.

I'm fascinated by small businesses and unusual creative undertakings. The people behind them, the worlds they're building, and the stories that rarely make it onto their websites.

My background crosses international communications, organizational strategy, creative production, and community building. I've spent years finding ways to make complicated ideas and ambitious undertakings engaging and human.

I'm also an artist. Making art is how I feel and study the world, experiment with unexpected relationships, and discover things I wouldn't find by thinking alone.

I love finding the more in someone's work. And making websites that invite others to come closer.

Bring us something with a pulse.

A conviction. A half-formed idea. A business you've spent years building. Something that deserves a more interesting life online.

We ask different questions. We're interested in the things that make you impatient with the usual answers. Especially those.

Then we give that energy somewhere to go.

The process is clear, collaborative, and carefully managed. You'll know where things stand, what needs your attention, and what comes next. We mix old-school craft with new-school tools, and aren't particularly sentimental about the boundary between them.

Bring your knowledge, your ambition, your peculiarities.

We'll bring an editorial mind, an experimental appetite, and the discipline to know when enough is enough.
